Communication Tips:
Please be aware that if you are using a computer at work, your employer may be monitoring your email. It may be in your best interest to read and submit personal emails using your own computer or a public computer not on company property.
Whenever you communicate with any attorney for the first time before an initial consultation, you are encouraged to write a brief summary of your legal matter via email or snail mail. The format of your first written communication should provide the following information:
- Name
- Physical address
- Email address
- Preferred methods of communication (email, Skype chat, etc.)
- If
applicable, please provide the name of the attorney who referred you to
us.
- Explain, as best as you can, the type of legal issue that is involved (e.g., employment discrimination, special education, etc.)
- Provide a brief statement of your case (please limit your statement to no more than two to four paragraphs)
- Please indicate when the event occurred (e.g., Jan 1, 2008)
- Please indicate where the event occurred (e.g., company, library, etc.)
- Please indicate who caused the harm (e.g., neighbor, landlord, co-worker)
- Please
state what
your expectations are.
- Has a complaint been filed?
- Has there been a court proceeding? If so, indicate the status or outcome.
- Do you currently have an attorney handling this matter?
Please do not send any confidential documents without our express approval.
Please be advised that no attorney-client relationship is established until an engagement letter is signed and a retainer, if any, is paid.
If you do not hear from us within three (3) business days, it is possible that we did not receive your email/message. Please feel free to send another message.
